Worldwide layers
Baja and Southern California
Cabo San Lucas and the Pacific side of the Cape, and the Southern California offshore grounds.

The water here
The cool California Current runs south along the coast and meets warm water from the tropics around the tip of Baja. Water off Cabo changes quickly with season; offshore banks off Southern California are separated from the coast by cool water.
This is general ocean science for the region, not a result from our own tests.
